Example: December 15, 1987 becomes 12/15/1987. Have the full four-digit year in front of you — year matters significantly.
Add the digits of the month together. If the month is already a single digit (January through September), it stays as-is. If the result is 11 or 22, stop — that is a Master Number and remains unreduced. Example: December = 12, so 1+2 = 3.
Add the digits of the day together. If the result is 11 or 22, stop — that is a Master Number. Example: 15, so 1+5 = 6.
Add all four digits of the year together. If that sum has two digits, add those two together. Example: 1987, so 1+9+8+7 = 25, then 2+5 = 7.
Add the reduced month + reduced day + reduced year. Example: 3 + 6 + 7 = 16.
If the sum from Step 5 is 11, 22, or 33, that IS your Life Path Number. Do not reduce it further. If the sum is 13, 14, 16, or 19, note it as a Karmic Debt Number, then reduce to the single digit. Otherwise, reduce the sum to a single digit. Example: 16, so 1+6 = 7. Life Path is 7 with Karmic Debt 16.
If the final sum before the last reduction is 11, 22, or 33 — stop. That is the Life Path Number. Master Numbers are not reduced to their base digit (2, 4, or 6). They are written as 11, 22, or 33, and sometimes as 11/2, 22/4, or 33/6 to show both the Master frequency and the underlying base energy simultaneously.
If any intermediate result — a component reduction or the sum before final reduction — is 13, 14, 16, or 19, note the Karmic Debt Number alongside the final Life Path. Some Master Numbers only appear when you check the sum of all birth date digits taken together in a single pass, without first reducing components separately.
